Why axial flux matters: Conventional radial motors wrap coils around the outside of a cylinder — axial flux motors stack the magnetic fields along the rotation axis like a disc. The result is a motor that produces more torque per kilogram than radial designs. The HTM11KW is not a sourced component — it is Golden Motor's own design, unavailable in any other motorcycle on the market.

BATTERY SYSTEM
The GMX is built around a 72V 75Ah semi-solid state lithium battery — a next-generation battery chemistry that delivers higher energy density, improved thermal stability, and longer cycle life compared to conventional liquid electrolyte lithium cells. The pack is housed in an aluminum casing and designed for rapid field replacement without tools.
Why semi-solid state matters:
Semi-solid state batteries use a gel-like electrolyte instead of liquid — reducing the risk of leakage, improving thermal stability, and enabling higher discharge rates. At 5C max discharge, the GMX battery can deliver sustained high-current output even under peak power demand. This is a meaningful upgrade over the liquid lithium cells commonly used in competing electric motorcycles at this price point.

In October 2022, a GMX pre-production unit entered the Smokey Road Hare Scramble in Williamstown, Kentucky, USA — and finished 1st Place with a lap time of 5:29. That race was the beginning, not the finish line. Since then, the GMX has gone through continuous rounds of improvement and refinement. The production unit available today is the result of everything learned since that podium finish.
